Reverse Lurking?

Every day, I feel myself caring less and less about the shit that comes through my pipes on greader, twitter, and tumblr, the places that have methodically taken all of my internet time for a good damn while now.

Over the last year, the number of blogs I read and follow was cut down further and further as I stopped caring about most of them, and now the ones I have left aren’t doing much for me either. It’s been a while since anything on We Remember Love or 2D Teleidoscope was really relevant to me, anime kritik still isn’t really back, baka-raptor barely posts, and I’m bored of everyone else’s blog. Tumblr has progressively gotten more and more lame over time, since more and more people end up there and post about lamer and lamer stuff. Twitter feels more like the small-talk engine we all tried to defend it from being than ever before… all of it is just boring. 

I spend a lot of time in these places, and doing so has gotten more and more painful as I’ve been caring less and less, so I know it’s time to pull the plug as I’ve done for other things in the past. I’m removing tumblr, twitter, and greader from my bookmarks bar. From now on, I’ll only be checking these things every so many days instead of every few hours every day, and my presence therein will become much more minimal, and I’ll probably also know a lot less of what’s going on all the time in the ‘sphere. If you wanna talk, IM me or hit up the blog - I’m going in search of new haunts. 

I’m gonna be ‘reverse lurking’ - instead of reading everyone and not talking, I’ll be reading no one and talking through my blog into a dead void lol.
