Google Plus Killed the Tumblr Star

(It rhythmically fits!)

My tumblrs are now all officially dead in favor of Google+. There’s a level of connectivity and interaction there that Tumblr doesn’t have, yet it supports the same kind of blogging, so aside from the dubious perk of having a whole site for some specific thing (not that tumblr sites are cool at all), Tumblr really feels irrelevant.

I share most stuff on G+ publically; there’s both a bigger, more relevant audience there, and better commenting system. Plus, I can make different circles for people to request filtering the stuff they don’t care about—for the most part, though, I just share everything publicly so that I don’t have to worry about who to put in what circle.
